Assemblage Sculpture
Students learned to create 3-Dimentional works using found objects. In this case, scrap wood.
The artist Louise Nevelson was studied, along with other important sculptors and abstract artists.
In addition, students studied legenday creatures and mythical beings through a websearch. Students
first drew their creatures in an abstract fashion and then began their sculptures using wood, wood glue,
and paint.

 

Creatures were based on abstract drawings by the students.

Special ed. students worked together to create a flying pig. Pegasus of Ancient Greece This student studied the legend of the Phoenix.

Another special ed. student created a Sphynx. The creature Catoblepas painted in an Australian aboriginal fashion.

Detailed patterns were created in this 6-armed man, mermaid, and fairy.
